Structured home observations for real clinical workflows.
MamaBear turns parent observations, symptom context, and short video into a structured eCheck. The secure link and access information can be delivered through patient-portal medical messaging, secure email, or secure text messaging, based on your organization’s workflow.
What MamaBear gives your team
Structured, asynchronous data — captured at home, when symptoms are actually happening — not recalled in an exam room.
Symptom Tracking
Logs cough, noisy breathing, sore throat, ear pain, rapid breathing, chest retractions, congestion, vomiting, diarrhea, rapid heart rate, and fever across days — providing temporal data to support pattern recognition and disease trajectory.
Therapeutic Response
Shows whether antipyretics, bronchodilators, or supportive care were used and how symptoms changed afterward — giving the care team additional context for their own treatment decisions.
Video + Activity Context
Short videos captured during symptoms provide visual context alongside the child’s activity, feeding, sleep, and other reported information. Video is included when relevant to the parent’s main concern.
Asthma Risk Support
Supports Modified Asthma Predictive Index (mAPI) data collection as part of the clinician’s own assessment of persistent asthma risk.
Flexible Secure Delivery
The secure report link and access information can be delivered through EHR patient-portal medical messaging, secure email, or secure text messaging. No direct EHR integration is required for the patient-portal workflow.
Symptom Duration Tracking
Tracks how long symptoms persist and how they change over time, giving clinicians additional data points to consider alongside their own clinical judgment when assessing viral versus bacterial presentations.
Built for clinical and compliance review
What MamaBear Provides
MamaBear Health enables secure collection of structured pediatric symptom information, including the parent’s main concern and level of concern, symptom timing, exposures, activity, medication response, and short video when relevant. The information supports clinician review between visits or during follow-up care. Clinical decisions, including medical necessity for a specific encounter, remain the responsibility of the treating provider.
How It’s Used
MamaBear is a store-and-forward telehealth platform that can support clinician-requested or parent-initiated eChecks. A care team may review an eCheck remotely or use it during follow-up care. MamaBear captures and presents information; it does not diagnose, score, triage, or replace the clinician’s judgment.
Evaluate reimbursement within your existing workflow
Coverage and coding requirements vary by payer, provider type, patient relationship, service furnished, timing, documentation, and state law. The codes below are examples of pathways that may be relevant when their requirements are independently met; they are not automatically billable because MamaBear was used.
MamaBear does not determine billability, select codes, or submit claims. Organizations should confirm current payer policy and coding guidance.

Accessing a patient eCheck
An eCheck may arrive through patient-portal medical messaging, secure email, or secure text messaging. Use the secure link and enter the access code when prompted.
- 1Open the medical message, secure email, or secure text that contains the MamaBear link and access code.
- 2Open the secure link in a web browser. If tapping the link does not work, copy the complete link and paste it into the browser address bar.
- 3Enter the access code exactly as shown when the MamaBear page prompts you for it.
- 4If the report arrived by email, check spam or quarantine and ask IT to allow messages from mamabear@loonmd.com when appropriate.
- 5If the report arrived through a patient portal, open the parent’s medical message; the link and access code are contained in the message body.
- 6If the link is expired, incomplete, or missing, ask the sender to resend the eCheck through the selected secure delivery method.
- 7Contact MamaBear support if the secure link opens but the report remains inaccessible.
