MAMABEAR Study

Help Us Evaluate the MamaBear Health™ App

Loon Medical is conducting a research study to evaluate how easy the MamaBear Health smartphone app is for parents and caregivers to use and whether the information it collects may be useful to clinicians for research assessment.

Who May Qualify

Parent or caregiver age 18 or older
Child age 0–5 years
Child has had recent or repeated respiratory symptoms such as cough, noisy breathing, rapid or labored breathing, recurrent respiratory infections, or respiratory distress
Uses an iPhone or Android smartphone
Comfortable participating in English or Spanish

What Participation Involves

One usability session lasting about 60 minutes
At-home use of the MamaBear Health app during a later respiratory symptom episode
A short follow-up questionnaire
A research follow-up call approximately 48–72 hours after the at-home submission

Compensation

Up to $250

Participants may receive up to $250 total compensation for completed study activities:

$75 after completing the usability session
$175 after completing the at-home study activity and required follow-up questionnaire

Important: MamaBear Health and the MAMABEAR Study are not emergency services. Study eChecks are not clinically monitored or reviewed for medical care, triage, diagnosis, or treatment. If your child needs medical care, use your usual healthcare resources. If you believe your child needs urgent or emergency care, seek care immediately and do not wait for the study team.
